Dr. Essie Rogers
Dr. Essie Rogers is a 2015 graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed a general equine surgical and medical internship at Tennessee Equine Hospital in 2016. With a Bachelor's Degree in Equine Studies, Dr. Rogers previously worked in the central Kentucky equine industry first as the Equine Center Director for Life Adventure Center of the Bluegrass and later as the Director of Education and Welfare for the Kentucky Horse Council. Dr. Rogers has a diverse equine background which includes a significant interest in education. In her role with the Horse Council, Dr. Rogers developed and conducted training for peace and animal control officers on the investigation of livestock cases, developed educational materials for horse owners, and taught a variety of equine seminars. In 2008 HorseSmarts: Essential Advice for Today's Horse Owner, an award winning educational video geared toward new and potential horse owners, was developed under the direction of Dr. Rogers. Dr. Rogers lives with her husband, Brian, 2 dogs and 2 horses.
